Hi Guys!
I think I am going to buy an Akubra Fed IV moonstone.
Ok it is not realy expensive about 70€ but I have to be sure.
Forgive me Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaase but it is not going to have an Indy bash
, but a mix between johny depp's for the crown and ribbon and (oh yeah) a more Indy's bash for the front brim.
I'll have to make a new grey bow, but that's easy...
I need pictures of a moonstone since I only get a couple of them.
ù
It's going to be my "cool & relax" hat, should be nice with a discoloured british army shirt durring French spring
Help Me!!!!
Regards,
Nicolas

Not quite sure what you are asking for here. Are you asking for help with your bash, or are you asking for photos of a moonstone hat?

If you're asking suggestions about the colour, the hat in that picture looks more like it could match the " tawny fawn" colour from the Akubra catalogue more than the moonstone don't you think?

I asked for pictures!
I wonder if the Fed IV is the hat I need in order to get the hat I want.
I need to SEE if it can do the job. Do you think it can (following my descption)?
Sorry Erri, I think " tawny fawn" is somewhat too brown for me (already have 2 brown Fedora!)
Am I clear?
Best regards,
Nico

If you're looking to replicate Johnny's hat might I suggest keeping your eyes open for a
vintage Stetson Whippet. That is what he is wearing there, ribbon, brim binding and wind cord.
I have the same exact hat minus the wind cord & holes in the pinch of the crown. Had Art refurbish it for me as the majority of it was a train wreck.
The brim is flexible enough to pull off either Johnny's brim treatment or the Indy treatment all in the same hour if your mood changes that fast. Anyway, that's an option that you could look into & you would would get a good rock solid hat. It may be soft & pliable but for a vintage I would never fear wearing it in the rain & ruining it.
Happy hat hunting! May you find your perfect hat.
Cheers!

If you are set on an Akubra, have you thought about a Campdraft in Silverbelly? Maybe that one would work too?

I was going to suggest a different style Akubra, also. If that's the route you want to go. Any news on your search?

by itself
with a face.
The color in the pictures is pretty true to my hat, though it does look different dependent on lighting. Hope that helps.....
