Another cheap "close-enough" pant.

Bags, Boots, Shirts and all other gear should be discussed here.

Another cheap "close-enough" pant.

Post by Man Hat Tan »

My quest for a budget gears continues.................

Went shopping again this weekend and found this pant at a local "mall" :)

It is made by Dockers - Recode style. 100 percent polyester. Color is almost like Mocha. Good thing..............only cost me $4.99.

All I have to do is redo the hem to 3".

Just make sure they don't have a cuff at the bottom when you hem them, but I'm sure you already knew that. Also, the hem should be around 4 inches or so, but that is hardly noticeable. My Westeds are hemmed to 2.5 inches.

Yeah...I redo the cuff and only manage to get a 3" hem for my inseam. I think that is good enough.

I think the only reason the hem was so high was so that they wouldn't get snagged on Harrison's boots. 3 should be fine!

Wow, that's really close for an off-the-rack mall find. Pocket flaps, even!

Do you have the tags for the pants or a model number? I'm not able to find much online when I do a search for "dockers recode pants". I can't even find them on the Dockers website. What store did you buy them from? Can you give us any specifics on how to track them down?

Indys' hem on his pants are styled by the military hem for that era!

Let us know what the model is on those pants and where you found them, they are good look alikes! ;-)

indyfan1234, Man Hat Tan modified that shirt himself. You can see it in his thread here:

Isn't that a great job? He is amazing with a needle and thread.

Pretty good, that's one of the better ones I've seen, even has some type of pocket flap! Nice.

Sorry guys for not getting back on the thread sooner.

I got that pant at a "local mall" (a used/secondhand store but not one of those nationwide thrift store).
I think this is an older style that was issued by Dockers a few years back.
Info on the pant.....

Dockers Recode.
100% Micromatique polyester (soft textured Microfiber material)

I found a few Skull1Skull2Skull3

HTH.

Just be very very very (did I mention 'very') careful with those trousers around open heat sources. Polyester has a tendency to melt.
