Hello everyone,

This is my first post...so bear with me.

I have always been in costuming for the last 10 years or so...mostly Star Wars.

So last Christmas....I got my jacket...... it's...Todd's. So I figure...why not jump on the bandwagon like the rest of the Joneses.

Been lurking on this board for the last month or so and finally got approved for membership. After a lot of reading......I found out that most of the items can be bought and put it on and ...you are Indiana Jones.

As for me ..I would like to approach it differently. I would like to DIY as much as possible.....if i can ;-)

BTW, met Dan (Maboot38) on the other forum and he's been feeding me alot of info.

So here is my first one......

Found this shirt at a thrift store for $1.50.......I know...it's not SA...but close enough.

Nice!

I think you'll find that around hear not too much is accepted as "SA", but don't let that bother you if you like it.

Cool! Awesome work on that shirt. Hey, especially these days when people are worrying about when the next paycheck is coming, Indy-on-a-budget is fine by me. Thrift store shopping is the new "green" thing to do, anyway -- less that's thrown away into the landfills. I assume you live in the City with your moniker? Or are you in Denver?

Welcome to this eliteist club called COW. haha

I think it's all about making something your own. and in this case the Indy style.

Nice having you here!

Gotta chime in here too, and (kinda') echo what theinterchange said.
While I have nothing but respect for those eagle-eyes among us who strive for exact detail and amazing screen accuracy in the Gear they wear (or put on display)... I've always been more of a Jones-"ish" style fashion fan.
If you're wearing a safari-style shirt with pocket flaps and epaulets but it's in olive green?
Hey. It don't make-no -nevermind to me.
Like theinterchange said, "it's all about making something your own". As long as YOU like it, go ahead and wear it with confidence... no need to make any apologies.
Welcome Man Hat Tan
All the Best,
Mitch

I'll let Man Hat Tan explain his own name, but he is not in the city. Look at all those Denver Broncos tickets behind the shirt!!!!!

Thanks for the welcome and the encouragements ......everyone.

Now I feel like part of the Joneses.........

I figured.....let DIY some of these gears for now and of course some gears can't be made. I will definitely upgrade these DIYers in the future.

Anyway...back to the shirt.

The shirt was an XL. Since I wear an L, I can use some of those excess material to mod the shirt. I shorten the sleeves and use that extra material to make the epaulets. Slim fitted the shirt a little bit and use that excess to make the pleads. So far so good....I like the look and been wearing it around the house for the last few days

So my next gear will be the pant. I will post some progress pics as soon as I have something to show.

Oh.....as for the name......

I am a Man....
Will have my Hat soon......
And I am Tan.......love the outdoor and have been doing a lot of travelling. I just did a month long travelling to Malaysia last Summer.

Btw.....I am in Colorado ;-)
