I'm not a big fan of tweed because they tend to be so scratchy. But when you stumble onto a pristine brown tweed jacket in a thrift store for $10, even I can't say no!

It's probably the closest I'll ever get to a Professor Jones look, so here it is;

I also picked this one up the same day, though it doesn't look like anything seen in the movies...

Nice. Either of them Harris tweed?

Chewie, those both look excellent! Now you just need to get some Dead Sea Scrolls bow ties to go with them. ;-)

best wishes,
Nebraska Schulte

Not Harris, I'm afraid. Not even Donegal. Just plain ol' tweed.

The tie is a possibility, Nebraska. Still debating it. :-k

I've got to get me a tweed jacket, it's a fashion piece I've wanted for a good number of years.

Nice finds Chewie!

I used to have a Harris Tweed jacket and I loved it, however, I out grew it some years back.

Nice. I picked up a Harris tweed jacket a few years ago for the FL. It ended up in Marosy's closet, cuz - well - I'm chubby! But they're very nice jackets!

Both very nice.
The first one is reminiscent of the jacket worn by Harrison in TOD the banquet scene. Very similar IMO.
You never know what you might find in those stores.
Cheers
JTW. :)

has it got vents at the back?
it seems that every jacket indy has been seen in has no vents.

A nice tweed jacket like that, for ten bucks is like finding money in the street. Nice job.

Thanks guys.

Just to be clear, since terminology is often fuzzy, I know that a "vent" on a blazer is the split or splits on the bottom of the back. They both have a single vent.

What the green one has that's interesting is something like the action pleats on an leather Indy jacket. No straps or belt. Just the pleats.

not bad, that is quite a find... Tweed has been coming back in style lately. If you live in a cool climate, put a hoodie underneath and pull up your sleeves, it gives a cool look. IMO
