just looking around at old threads, I found this one..

I reckoned this was a picture of all the styles that Wested had to offer, and that it would be cool (although maybe not taken on the ground at the moment) to see the same kind of pic a year and a half later..

I think your chasing rabbits at this one.

I think most of those jackets are sold.

I think I understand; it would be cool to see a pic of all the different styles and hides that Wested offers, all in one place next to one another. Would be great for comparisons sake for buyers trying to decide which jacket would suit them best.

It'll help some but photos will only do so much....lighting, exposure, camera optics, etc. can all distort what we're actually seeing. The best thing to do is to obtain actual samples of the leather from the vendor and see them/touch them yourself.

photos always seem to be victims of lighting, camera quality and monitor settings, but if I see a series of jackets in different hides and colors, I'll be able to use what I have as a benchmark to judge what I see on screen..

Well the right place would be the Wested website, or a place like this. I don't think it would be good to have one photo with all the jackets, just a series of photos taken with the same lighting, the same background and the same camera.

Yeah that would be a great idea to show the different hides. The wested sample page is missing many of the optional hides ie. Novapelle, washed goat, etc

Not a bad concept. The pre-makeover mainpage to Indygear had a lot of photos of different jackets and different hides side-by-side. That's taken down now, but the photos were useful. No point in doing it if the jackets aren't identified, though. I also think these should would be easier to access in the Gear section and not in the forums (unless made as a sticky).
