Real dirt

If you want your hat to look like it's been through a real adventure, you can't beat some real dirt and real cobwebs!!

I'm in the process of renovating a house and decided to wear the ole fedora today. A couple of hours work pulling down ceilings and voila! Instant "just managed to escape that boulder" effect - genuine sweat stains too. :D

OMG whiskeyman! That is one of the BEST hat pics I've seen in a long time! (jacket's not too shabby either...;-)) Not only does the dirt and cobwebs make the hat look really great but you have captured that Indy(Ford) "I'm a little bit tired and beat right now but I'm ready for anything you have to throw at me - BRING IT ON!" look! Awesome! :notworthy:

Just be careful not to let that hat get wet now, as every drop of water that hits dust will turn the dust to mud. .

When I clicked on this thread, all I could see was the hat at the top of the page, in the second my mind processed the image before I scrolled down to see your face, I had already categorized the image as most likely a still shot from somewhere with Harrison Ford wearing a raiders hat. Man that hat looks really spot on, drool. Good luck with the home repairs.

I note you did not send pictures of the ceiling  , just the hat. What did the ceiling look like after words -- or is most of it on the hat  ? W>

Thank you.
It's just a reg. Fed IV that I've had since last spring. Funny thing is, it's the first hat where I really couldn't care less how it looks. All my other hats I fussed over and worried about and checked for taper, and then sold when they appeared to be tapering. This one, I bashed in 5 minutes and just shove on my head when I feel like it. I never even check how it looks in the mirror. The rest of the time I stuff it in a cupboard or throw it on a chair in the corner. I've slept with it on, and I grab it by the pinch or any other part of the crown - I wear it in any kind of weather and really don't take any care of it at all - even using it as head protection on a building site... and yet it has never tapered and always seems to look good no matter how I shove it my head. :-k

looks great. actually when I think about it.the hats and jackets seem to take more beating then what we think it can take.we may be suprized all of us about how well the gear holds up when we just treat it like dirt.

You can't beat good old fasion natual wear and tear. Once you start adding chemicals and other products, it gives it a foced look rather than a natural one. Great job on the hat :) :) :)

I think the sweater was from H&M - I have two of them as i thought they had a kind of vintage vibe.
