Hello again CoW'ers!
First of all, Happy Hollidays!
Now the subject of this topic, what would you say it's a better hat? Why?
I know that the word "better" involves lot's of things like quality of the felt, shapes, liners, sweatbands, ribbons, etc etc. But if someone put in front of you 2 hats with similar characteristics wich one would you take?
Regards!
-Alfonso
P.S. I didn't knew if I should put this topic in here or the fedora section

It's specifically a hat question, so I moved it to the Fedora Section. ;-)

It also begs the question on whether you are talking about a vintage or modern Stetson/Borsalino. There is a definite difference in both of the hats when you compare vintage to modern makes. If I had to choose between a modern Stetson and a modern Borsalino, assuming both had the same block, brim, felt, and color specs, I'd have to let my fingers help me decide based on how soft and thin the felt was.
That said, if we're talking vintage Stetson to Borsalino, and all the specs are the same, I'd probably go with the Borsalino. Both hats would be fine hats to own, but the vintage Borsalinos I've come across are nice. They're also more difficult to find than vintage Stetsons. I also like to mix up my hat collection a bit, so to have fine hats from different makers is a good thing to me.

I'd still take the Borsalino over the Stetson if new.
Though not anywhere equal to the hats of the past, even the newer felt is better in the Boralino than the Stetson.
JMO, though

Vintage or New hat... That's an
excelent thing to consider indeed!
In summary we could say that even if it is New o Vintage: Borsalino wins?

Nah, I'm like the majority of voters and I was swayed by what an knowledgeable source said was the right choice. ;-)
With .001% of the votes in, this network claims Borsalino the winner.

I have a Vintage Borsalino, and it's obvious the thing is from another time...they just don't make 'em like that anymore. On newer examples, I'd still prefer the Borsalino, hands down...From my experience....
