Old front pinch line on Raiders hat 1/2 inch to left?

Post by 3thoubucks »

Actually 2 lines from 2 previous pinches. I'm speculating on thin evidence that the Raiders hat had a normal dead center front pinch to begin with, before it was pinched about 1/2 inch off center in both directions. If you have a tight Raiders pinch, and you pop out your front dents, you'll see a thin line of fuzz sticking out from the hat where the pinch was. if you look carefully, you'll also see a fertile crecent of fuzz where the pinch flattens and fans out before contacting the top of the ribbon. The first picture shows a huge ball of fuzz at the very top of one of the old pinches, and a smaller fuzzball to it's right at the top of the second pinch. Image The second picture shows where those fuzzy old crecents above the ribbon caught some dust, plus the fuzz lines. The top of the line close to the front of the hat swings toward the rearward one, but fuzz will do that sometimes! Image If it's ever proven to be true, and you have a long oval head, you might be able turn your old hat without worrying about the old pinch. I'm on the verge? of putting these extra pinches in my PBBM then switching back. I have always been aware of a raised area to the left of the pinch and wondered why It wasn't there in my turned hat. I think this is why- Plus I'm hoping I'll end up getting the inward crease that disappears under the ribbon! Wait --- I could be wrong about this....Image

Nice pics! I think you may be seeing just that-lint. And perhaps sweat stains on the last two pics. I don't know about anyone else, but once I put that sharp pinch in any of the numerous hats that I have owned, it takes a wet reblock to get em' out. They become permanent, and if you move them, you get way more than just a fuzz ball as evidence. I think if the pinch has been moved in that hat, you would see more than what you are pointing out. regards, Fedora

I can pluck most of that fuzz off with my fingers, and bending the pinch inward with a finger nail may or may not help. I don't have very much experience. The lines are moving into a concave area, which would make them less noticeable than if they were on a non-bashed area of the hat... It's not very clear evidence, I admit. I think maybe I'm just tripping. The DVD is out in September or something, I'll get a clearer shot. Maybe someone has another shot?

Is it just me or is it that the lower and tighter the pinch toward the brim of the hat, the more pronounced the front swoop? As I squeeze the pinch near the brim my Fed's brim just drops straight down...

Yeah, but it's kind of self adjusting. Hey, I just put two extra pinches in my hat! So far, so good. I need to wear the new pinches a while so they kind of set up. I should have waited for better pictures, so I'd be morre sure of what I was doing. I took a before pic, and will take a pic of the results.
