Was looking at the Tods site and saw their boots. Obviously old prefer Aldens but they are a lot more expensive as live in England, unless anyone knows where to get them for a decent price over here. They talk of a part cork construction, how easy will it be to get the soles / heels repaired in time?
Also I'm getting my trousers fitted but don't have the boots yet. I'm planning on useing dark brown timberlands in the 'short' term and wondered what the difference in the height of the heal is, compared to the others, just so I'm not way out. Many thanks for your anticipated help.

Thanks for at least posting ;-) I think I am going to get measured with both work 'shoes' and Timberland 'boots'. Hopefully then the length will then be 'OK'. However it will be a few hours before I take them in so if anyone else has some observations PLEASE post!IndyGeek78 wrote:It is a bummer livivng in the UK sometimes. I would love to own a pair of Aldens but for the price I'm seriously put off. As for the height I think the Todds boot that I own might be a few cms short off the exact height.
Not sure if this helps with your original question. Sorry
