Waterproofing the Hat

Okay guys I just got myself a very nice Dyna Felt Fedora in grey and the first day I wore it out it rained - now there are some rather ugly bumbs that have formed in the crown.

So A) is there any way to smooth that out again - maybe with steam or something and B) is there an easy way to lightly weather proof a fedora? I believe it's a fur/wool blend.

Cheers!

Scout felt hat rain & stain protector should do just fine in weather proofing it. As far as getting bumps out of the crown, I can't help you.

I'm working on a rain protecter that will not change the felt in any way. I should have things rolling the first month of the new year.

If you iron out the brim you will lose you brim curl. A light steaming might work but be careful not to hit the crown.
