I know it's a bit trivial, but I'm so pleased with the outcome of this strap and buckle, very SA, IMO. :-k
The strap is just under 1 inch in width, and comfortably accommodates the buckle.
The buckle itself was found at a local saddlery, this particular type is used in equestrian competition as part of the rider's stirrup. (There are two pics - one close up view and one overview)
Cheers,
JTW.

Very nice....Have always liked the Roller Buckle used in LC over the square Raiders buckle.

Thanks guys, :)
I understand Magnoli has produced something similar which is available to buy. www.magnoliclothiers.com
I just thought I'd have a go at making one myself after stumbling across the buckle at my local saddlery.
By the way, the full length of the strap is 60".

Buckle looks spot on, though I think the strap is just a hair too wide still. You'd be looking at about 20mm for absolute SA. Nevertheless, well done!

Hi,
to answer your question, the bag came from http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/image ... AS-BAG.jpg Apparently they still have a limited stock of these.
It is an unissued MkVll, you can just see the old date stamp '43' on the inside of the flap. :)
Cheers,
JTW.

That's potentially quite a steal for US buyers (depending on the cost of carriage) given the relative weakness of the pound.
