Pecards and TN?

Post by Mulceber »

I remember when people first started getting Tony Nowak jackets, he advised us not to put Pecards or any leather conditioner on them. There were several gearheads who did that and it made the leather darker. But I also remember hearing that the jacket went back to normal after a few days. Is that true? Will Pecards have any lasting effect on a Nowak jacket? Can I put some on it when the time comes and not have to fear it ruining the look of the jacket? -M

I put Pecards on my TN jacket and it just made it slightly darker, but eventually went back to the same color. Hope this helps

you might want to try cold water treatment .....I think several have done so with some darkening.......I got caught in a pretty good rain over Thanksgiving in my CS and so far after drying has developed a nice darker patina over shoulders etc...Hatch

I put Pecards on my Nowak. The leather did darken a little at first (I actually liked it a little better that way) but has since returned pretty much to its original color. The Pecard's does help with the rain, however, and I think it softened the leather some as well.

Nope, as the thread title says its a TNCS, though novapelle is also a predistressed cow and should give similar results,,,,,,Tony does additional hand distressing if you request or less if you want a darker look.......

I'm glad you brought this up because I just ordered my Indy4 jacket from Tony and when I mentioned I would like it weatherproofed, because of all the rain here in WA state, he got all excited and said NO don't do anything to the leather! I mentioned Precard to him and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I've never used Pecard but it sounds like a good product. I've ordered my jacket to be the darkest leather in his batch.
