I met a fellow Wested fan at Starbucks in Grand Prairie, Texas today. it was the first time someone noticed my Wested Raiders that I've had for 4 years. We had a nice brief chat and went on our way. I'm amazed on how kind Indy fans are.

It is surprisingly difficult, isn't it??

I had a similar experience - granted it was at a Comic Con, so of course there'll be Indy people there trained to recognize the jacket, but he wasn't a COW-poke. I was looking through some calendars or little trinkets and somebody came and asked "Is this the Authentic Lamb?" :o  Not even, "Is that a Wested?" but just picking it out and going straight to guessing the leather! I said yes, and they asked if they could feel it, and said they'd had a goat before and were interested in the lamb. I do agree Indy fans are the coolest / nicest group of fans I've met. That's why I love this community! :) And plus, I like geeking out with you guys because you're all funny.

i'm a geek for sure. i'd love to get a t-shirt that says GEEK in bold letters and wear it with my gear

i had a sighting of a wested here in town....it wasn't ravenscrowe, piers, johnny whip crack, crazylegsmurphy, or snakewhip sable.....so there may be another calgary 'sleeper' out there

btw, there's a nice japanese-canadian fellow in town wearing a todd's standard. he's not a 'cow-poke' (shane that's brilliant!!!).....he's just a buddy of mine that was able to find something that fit him good during an 'indy-g clearance give-away' :)

You know it's funny, the jacket alone, most people aren't going to pick up on...add the hat to the ensemble and suddenly it's 'hey, Indiana Jones!' probably would work the other way around as well.

I saw what looked like a raiders jacket (dead on color and stitching)...from the back, in town. Then they turned around, normal side pockets and buttons running down the front o.O

Also on that note Adam on Mythbusters routinely wears a fedora (not SA of course)...though he evidently has an Indy costume and whip per the Indiana Jones special they had (seeing whether or not you could flip a motorcycle by throwing a flag pole through the spokes).

Actually we have a few threads on that hat. He's got his Akubra that he wears, but he DOES have a Raiders Adventurebilt that he also wore on that episode a little, and it was sold to him by one of the members here, Ob1al. So he actually does have an SA hat. ;-) :P

hmm I'll have to go back and watch that one again, I thought he had on the same one he usually wears :P It's nice to see someone pulling one off- don't see too many fedora type hats these days! I actually think he has several, some episodes it looks distinctly different, wider brim, more 'floppy' than others. :-k

He is probably like the most hat wearers - he NEEDS more than one! That's the way to go... Then you have one for every occasion!! :)
