The KOTCS Fedora "Tweaking"

Post by Flash Gordon »

I've read about the Crystal Skull fedoras being sent to Baron Hats for what's been called "tweaking".

The KOTCS hat I got from Steve looks pretty much like the one in the movie.

Why did Bernie think the fedoras needed tweaking, and what exactly was done?

It's been discussed, and from what I understand, what happened was basically, on one of the very early hats, Steve didn't do a great job on it due to nervousness (or something similar), and so Baron's had to correct that. Also, later on during filming, the bashes popped out of some of the hats when they were in transit, and so when Bernie received them, he didn't want to fix it himself, so he took it to Baron's and had the bashes put back in.

Then Mark of Baron's hats used that as a premise to say "we worked on the hats for Indy IV" (implying that he made them). -M

the second statement is true about bernie not wanting to touch the creases that popped out in shipping and hence getting baron hats involved. i've never heard about the first one.........

So, what are you saying? That Marc Kitter is not a hatter? I do not know anything about this, so I'm asking :)

Jakob, the Marc from Adventurebilt and Mark from Baron's are two different people.

Since this topic has been discussed and answered thoroughly in the thread: viewtopic.php?t=31268&sid=d498ff9d31674 ... c3e64e94ae, and to avoid further unnecessary confusion and muddying up the waters over the matter, I'm going to lock this one down and let you folks read it in the other thread. ;-)
