Club Obi Wan

Ok-i've got to perform with my whip tomorrow and I've got this ONE plait that is almost cut through. I don't want to use it too much without some reinforcement, so my question is-what would using a little dab of superglue on the cut section to "glue" it back together do to the roo hide? Is there any good reason why I shouldn't do this? Will it damage the leather?

Do a long whipping over it with waxed nylon string. That would be better than any glue or cement. Start about 1/2 inch before and wrap tightly until about 1/2 inch after. It will hold indefinitely but the whipped section will be stiff.
If you have any books on whips such as Whips and Whipmaking, most will show you how to do it. It is the same way a stockwhip keeper is lashed on.
