Ok, I'm new to this forum and I've read a LOT of posts about ordering the most screen accurate jacket and thus asking Wested/Peter to make certain modifications. Subsequently, I gather that some of these asked-for modifications are now standard and therefore no longer have to be specified. My question is this: To order a screen accurate jacket (Raiders) what special modifications should I ask for and what now comes standard anyway (i.e.: gussets under arms, back panal meeting sleeve seem (not sure what that is exactly), pocket placement (I understand more accurate placement is now standard?), etc.?? If someone could run down a small list, that would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Love the forum by the way!

Welcome to our crazy club.
When ordering I would not assume anything is standard. Be very specific and make sure you do so in writing.

I would agree with everything that MK says. The BIG advantage that Peter offers with his jackets that his is agreeable to a lot of mods. That advantage however, becomes a disadvantage in that you have to be very specific on exactly what you want. I would document every detail in writing via letter, email or fax. I would also call to make sure that your detailed instructions were received and left to no interpretation.
Another advice is to print down the following diagram or at least write down the following measurements for proper pocket placement.

These are the definitive measurements that should be followed.
Hope this helps.

Houdini,
I would say the gussetts and collar size. I just used the measurement of my Expedition--no wider than 3 inches at the tip. Dakota, Dale, and Indydawg saw that sized collar on the Raiders Wested and thought it was perfect size.
Add to that picture that Sergei posted---the height and width measurements. If you can, include two additional arrows to show the 7 inches by 8 inches INCLUDING THE FLAP!!! I highlight that due to some discussions I've had with Indydawg about Peter's understanding if you put, "the cargo pocket is to be 7 inches by 8 inches." You see, Peter will make the pocket that size, as you requested ('cause he's good at that) and then add the flap on top of that. So, your overall perception of the finished product will look a bit longer at about 8 1/2 inches or so which, believe it or not, makes a significant difference in the visual look of the jacket.
Let us know what you decide and how it works out.
