Hat Boxes
I want a nice hat box to store my Lid in...who's got good boxes like those black optimo boxes Fedora mentioned in the John Williams thread?....
I saw hat boxes at JJ hats but they're too short to keep the high crown of an indy fedora housed!!
im not looking for a time capsule here!!!...just a sturdy hat box big enough for the fedora that holds the hat in place and wont affect the hat (Taper, Brim Damage etc.)
Any thoughts?

C'mon people, someone start buying these! I want to know how well they actually work before spending my money on them
Seriously though, that black "hat box" looks really interesting...I would just be afraid of it not fitting our ever so carefully curled brims, and tapering the hat as if it were laid on it's brim.

Well I put my Akubra open crowned in the box and fits all right, in fact there is still some room in the bottom of the box, so your 5 3/4 in. crown will fit! The good news are that this boxes are about $4 USD, the bad news are that they're made in Mexico, therefore the shipping cost may increase the cost. If there's anything I could do for you, just ask ;-)The Penitent Man wrote:The box MustangLoverMex showed is just the type Im looking for...where can you get a box like that for a hat with a five and three quarters crown!!...
Im not into those vaccuform cases personally
Nope, the only mark is the trademark Tardan outside of the box, I think they make the boxes for themselfs.BendingOak wrote:I would love to find the company who makes them. Any markings on the box?

If you want I could give you the meassurements of the pattern, you could do it and it would be 5 times cheaper. Of course if you want, I could ask for the shipping cost and send you some of these. ;-)The Penitent Man wrote:Hey Alfonso,
If you could forward me the info on those boxes it would be much appreciated my friend...I dont mind paying the shipping cost...the box is only 4 bucks
Thanks for your help
