How do the Aldens look worn with Jeans?

Bags, Boots, Shirts and all other gear should be discussed here.

How do the Aldens look worn with Jeans?

Post by Kokopelli »

:-k so I have a serious spinal injury I'm dealing with and undergoing several treatment routes in an attempt to avoid or prolong the need for surgery. One thing I need is a comfortable, cushioning shoe to wear everyday. This may be my excuse to buy the Aldens! Yay spinal injuries!
Anyway, how do they look worn with jeans? I imagine they'd look good...

Let's face it - Aldens look good with anything, even shorts! One piece of gear my girlfriend really likes.

I wear them with jeans at least once a week.
Wear a brown leather belt and it all matches up.

To be honest, I don't think they do look good with jeans - has too much of a "lumber-jack" effect. Aldens look fine with most things, but jeans are the exclusion, imo. If I'm wearing jeans, I pretty much always wear sneakers. -M

Yeah, but you'd be okay. You could sleep all night and work all day.

Get well soon man.

I wear Aldens with jeans all the time and I consistently get compliments especially from my female friends. They seem to think they look cool when I wear them with jeans that are rolled into cuffs at the bottom. Very "1920's" is the phrase. Maybe "very farmer" would be more accurate. My grandpa used t wear a very similar boot with his overalls.

I think they look great with jeans, and wear them all the time. However, I don't think I would ever describe Alden's as "cushiony". Comfortable yes, but considering your condition, I would check with your doctor before dropping over $300 on shoes. Heck, if he gives you the go ahead, maybe you can even get your insurance to buy you some Aldens!!! :)

i have tan suede 405's that i wear with jeans.....i prefer those to the regular aldens when i sport the denim.

i don't mind wearing the regular ones, but as mentioned previously, there is that 'lumberjack' feel

I'm actually not a fan of the look. That said, function is usually better than fashion. Aldens are orthopedic, and as someone who's had a history of lower back hiccups, I can tell you the boots are a great help!

I like wearing them with jeans, but not when the jeans are too light. I like dark jeans with them though. I think they look killer!

Knibs looks great up there! ^ And look at the dust on those shoes! Very nice look! (Only here can you rough up a pair of $300 shoes to make them look GOOD. )

They are perfect with dark blue jeans, particularly those with a boot-cut. The lumberjack effect comes from wearing work jeans with them.

I agree with Shane, too light a jean would make them look funny.

So far I have only worn my Todd boots, Alden knockoffs, with jeans and I think they work just great. In fact my boots will be worn far more with jeans than any other style of pants.

No go on the jeans, though they would look good with Dickies, a workers slack and a lot like Denim, for those that don't know.

can you compare the 'comfortness' of the Todd's to the Aldens?

To me, Aldens really don't give a lumber-jack look. But a nice pair of high heel red pumps on the other hand...

Hmmm... perhaps I shouldn't have said that... :Plymouth:

I wear mine with jeans all the time.

Personally I think they go great together.

It would depend on the jeans though.

A more traditional color and cut such as 501's for example work great with Aldens.

I just put on a pair of Alden 405 boots and I'm wearing some faded Levi 501 jeans. They look just fine to me. If you aren't happy with that look, invest in a bunch of Indy pants.

Great photo! Looks like a Corona ad.

Wasn't the story that Harrison Ford wanted the Aldens because he wore them when he worked as a carpenter, prior to his acting career? If that story is true, then I'll bet HE wore Aldens with jeans! 8)

It's true. Ford brought Aldens to the table. The original boot was supposed to be a Redwing.

I like the Alden's or Todd's with jeans. You sort of get the simulated moc-toe work boot effect.

I like the way they look with jeans. I have to agree Ford probably wore them with jeans before anyone else did. I used to wear a Redwing boot 30 years ago with a similar sole (not rugged looking) and wore as a daily wearer with jeans. The Aldens look very suave with jeans.

Can Indiana Jones be suave?

Ditto on that...I did however, covertly, wear my beat up pair with a black suit to a friends wedding this past September without my wife discovering until I showed up (We arrived separately). Needless to say she was none to happy and I got the evil eye every time I laced up my boots for the next few days. Perhaps it was because the pair I wore looked like they just came out of a Tanis dig site or something :-k ....Oh well I was a gear head when she married me so for all intensive purposes it's really her fault  ....

My wife hates when I wear my Aldens with jeans.. I guess she's used to seeing me in real work boots so when I have the Aldens on she says I look like a sissy! Sheesh!

But in my personal opinion I think they look fine with jeans when the boots are worn and a little darker from old age.
