Noel Howard Strap And Bag Questions

Well I recieved my Noel Howard bag and strap from peter today. I ordered a new back and unfortunatlly one of the snaps broke when I unsnapped the bag. I still have both pieces the one part of the top of the snap is still attached to the botom and the top part of the snap fell off the bag how can I repair this? Also the waxy substance on the strap Peckards is recommended for its removal am I correct in that? Thanks!
