I figured if anybody could appreciate this, it was you guys.

Image

I set the camera in the field on a tripod and had a friend of mine run out to where I wanted to be. I set the aperture, shutterspeed, exposure and got the angle down, then I ran out to him. He ran back and I had him press the button.
An amount of photoshop work later and I'm pretty impressed with the result.

Did you Photoshop the silhouette? Can we see the original image? Nice location.

Thanks mates, I figured you all would get a kick out of it.

Nebraska, that's my RJallen nylon...

Whipitgood, no, I didn't photoshop the sillouette, I just made it a bit darker.

That is an excellent shot!! For some reason, though, I'm picturing wildlife in the background, like zebra, or gazelle or elephants or something. It looks like an African setting.

Great shot!!

Glad you enjoyed it Ron. Shows how nicely the whip rolls out - great work on it.
And don't call me Scott :P

Whipitgood, this was taken out in back of a water pump and quarry area of all places. All the machinery is one side surrounded by mountains, but in the other direction there are nothing but fields stretching out forever.
Btw let me just say that these are not the kind of fields I would recommend prancing though happily. This was a month ago and I STILL have burrs in my socks.
Honestly though, it's not as far from civilization as it looks.
