I really don't understand: the writing on the sweatband of my DP claims "100% Fur Felt" and then "Hand Made"...correct me if I'm wrong, but the DP is factory-made
I really don't get the point...I mean, if the DP is handmade, then I'm Mola Ram

Things can be hand made and still made in a factory. Textile factories employ many people to make individual parts of the hats. For example, one person might cut all the hats by hand and hand them off to another who blocks and steams them by hand, and then another bashes them "by hand", then another sews the ribbons on by hand/sewing machine.
Depends on your interpretation of "hand made".

Uh...I see. it remembers me of the case of a stock of shirts which came from Korea without buttons. These were added when the shirts arrived in Italy, so they were claimed (legally) to be made in Italy.
bah, it's so sad that it appears to be no technical distincion between a hand made AB and a hand made DP

If a sewing machine is used. I wouldn't call that handmade.
I really think that any DP should not have the words handmade anyway near their product.

Oh, I'm in no way defending it. Being the owner of a DP, I can attest to the fact that it is NO work of craftsmanship. I don't think they should call it hand made either. They should calll it a "toy hat".
However, I was just saying that technically they can claim that.

I don't think they have reason, they just put it onthere to sell hats.
