I just received my KOTCS backpack and it is almost like new. I was wondering if there is anyone that knows how to go about distressing it to be SA. Thanks.

Yeah, please let us know where you got it.

You know, I didn't really notice the backpack but I have a really simlar one already - and the best bit - it's a 1940's original that served in the Norwegian Resitance in WWII, it carried supplies and illegal allied radios to forest enclaves.
I only got into Indy gear again after 'Skull' rekindled a long dormant obsession but it seems I have been collecting Indy gear all this time without even noticing!
I'll post a picture soon

the leather and canvas, though very faded, are in excellent condition and there's no rust on the thickly enamelled frame to speak of. I use it everywhere

I was given my similar 1940's original by a Norwegian [now deceased] who had actually helped the Resistance. Items with a real history like that have some intangible 'presence' an almost visible 'nobility' which, for me, more than makes up for them not being SA

If you need help distressing the bag you might want to try dirting it up some .. maybe throwing dirt on it then try a slight sanding on the edges to give it that worn look.. don't forget the HJ if you really want to make it SA... to do the HJ try spray paint from a distance since his seems to be faded from what I can tell..
I'll watch the movie once more and see if I can help you some more...
