Nylon DIY budget bullwhip

A couple of weeks ago I posted the link to my tutoral on an easy way to make a natural fibre bullwhip.
I have now made a much stronger nylon whip in the same way - but with much more Indyesque details - and added that info to the end of the original tutoral

I hope this helps those, who like me, have a budget much smaller than their enthusiasm.
As a final Indy-ization I suggest buying 15 mm caramel coloured polyester ribbon and weaving an outer layer of 4-ply chequerboard over the whole thong before tying the turks heads.
I have tried it and it looks great but I took no photos as it makes the whip into a non-functional show-only item.
A price compromise might be nylon with a final leather shell. Depends how close you need it to look.
