Hi guys. That's my first post here so I'm going to introduce myself:

I see it's like a tradition to play Guess my hat, so I tought it would have been a good start to challenge you to guess my hat! Even if I think it will be easy for you

BTW, I was asking: which style is my hat? I like considering it a hybrid, because it has the ToD taper, the Raiders turned ribbon, and the center dent shaped like the LC fedora.

What do you think about it? would you call this a ToD or a LC?

I'd say it's definitely a Raiders of the Last Temple bash, but no idea of the brand.

Is it a Stetson?

I find it funny that any hat that has tapper it called TOD.

That's a Dorfman-Pacific, rebashed and with a replaced ribbon. Now you just have to flatten out the side brim.

looks like crushable wool felt. DP with a new ribbon?

The brim back and sides really look like a DP. The ribbon is riding a little high on the hat, suggesting a taper, once again pointing to DP. Show the hat straight on and we'll know for sure!

Here's an image of a reblocked DP with replaced ribbon.

I surrender to maboot: it's a Dp indeed. but not a crushable wool version as suggested by indiana g: it's the fur felt.

I replaced the ribbon and I had a lot of problems by doing it due to the taper. I wonder what's the way to replace a ribbon on a tapered hat.

maboot, you talked about flatting the brim. how could I do that?

aaaah dovevo immaginarlo che eri italiano...Indiana "Stronz" in effetti avevo notato l'assonanza particolare!

comunque l'ho comprato da ingenuo che ero lasciandomi abbagliare dalla licenza ufficiale così come feci col il Crambes di cotone. Ora sto pianificando l'acquisto di un Henry.

Strones, don't let Indiana Holt catch you using "@#$%" to circumvent the language filter. He had a hissy fit on me about it the other day.

As for the DP, to flatten the brim, I suggest getting it wet and setting a couple of bricks on either side until it dries.

You did a good job on the bash on the top, but you should have put more effort into keeping the ribbon closer to the bottom of the hat. I had a tough time with it, but just exercised a LOT of patience!

Hehe, no I used another word, but this was generated by the filter. It's funny! ;-)

ha ha ha. In my case, I filtered myself, and still got in trouble. Instead of writing the word, I wrote ****. But apparently that wasn't good enough, so he switched **** to MOD EDIT. What's the difference?

Maybe he thought that the **** came from the filter, and that I had actually written the word.

Anyway, our moderators do a great job, and I appreciate all their hard work, but I just couldn't resist poking fun!

As for the rebashed DP, I agree that the best advice may be to throw it away, but you can't beat the price!

Did it. The brim flattened, but the part near to the sewing (where the brim becomes the crown, I can't explain it better than this ) still tended to go downwards. I suppose it just due to the fact that the sewing is supposed to be for a safari hat style: the brim naturally goes downwards, while a fedora should have its brim nice and flat.

Ha! I totally don't know how to use a pin! My mother did the job, and almost got crazy: sewing thru the felt seems to be VERY difficult, and she didn't want to ruin the hat. it would have been useless to explain her that even if I paid it 100 bucks that hat isn't worth a bean.

the main problem was the taper. the upper side of the ribbon didn't adhere to the felt and I didn't find a way to solve the problem
