So I get a pair of pinks trousers from a friend of mine yesterday and I look to see if they have the pocket flaps. To my suprise, it only has one flap. The other pocket doesn't have it and does not appear to have ever been made with two flaps.
I don't know US dress uniforms (other than Marine Corps stuff) so I was curious if this was a common feature.
"Pinks" with 1 Pocket Flap??

Pinks went through a number of incarnations throughout the war and had slight variants between manufacturers, as well. In fact, some didn't have pocket flaps at all! Also, if the officer had his pinks custom tailored (which wasn't uncommon then) it could also account for the difference. Do you have any pics of these pinks, especially the labels?
