I know, it is worthless without pictures...

Hi,

I just received my new Akubra Federation IV, and have a question about the sizing. The hat fits my head (front to back) a little loose, but with the foam tape, it is pretty snug. However, on the sides of my (non-long oval) head, there are gaps between the sweat and my head.

I think this is normal, but I defer to the knowledge of this group.

thanks,
Connecticut Jones

As far as I know that´s normal.
My Fed IV was also a little loose when I got it, but after wearing it a while it snugged up. Now it´s a really comfortable fit.

I'm not an expert on the FedIV's but wanted to say "Welcome". I am also in CT - Western side of the state.

Howdy Connecticut Jones! Don't worry, all new hats do that. The longer you wear it the better it will fit! ;-)

Welcome aboard. Don't worry, your hat will shrink a little in the next months. In the meanwhile put some little pieces of foam here and there under the sweatband to fit perfectly. ;-)

Thanks!

Thanks everyone. I was working from home today and was able to wear the hat most of the day (aside from those pesky conference calls). I also must have re-bashed it 5 times (trying to get the look I want, not necessarily completely SA, but something that says "Indy" :whip: )

When I find the charger for my camera, I'll take some pictures and ask for more advice.
