Todd's only has the jackets listed as small, medium, large. What are the comparison sizes in say like a 44 or 46 long?

I just received a Todd's 2-XL jacket a few weeks ago, and generally, the jacket is a slim fit to replicate the SA fit, or the way the jacket fit HF in Raiders. The 2-XL would fit a regular sized, slim fit guy up to a size 46 comfortably. If someone wears a size larger than a 46, needs a full cut or a Tall size, the jacket may not fit well.

42 = XL in Todds

From what I've read on COW, anyone who wears a 42 should get a Todds XL, so I guess a 44 would need an XXL (?).

I would confirm that. I wear a 42 and the Todd's large was way too small for me.

I agree. I wear an almost OTR 42R suit jacket. I'm 5'9.5" and weigh around 170. The XL jacket fits perfectly.

Just be aware that something odd happened when I re-sized those bottom 2 pics. I look like a weeble-wobble :P

Not that it is FINALLY dipping into the 80s here in the day, I might be able to wear the jacket at night.

Ummm.... okay, I know I'm new here and all, and maybe I'm speaking out of turn, but if you put some orange and purple make up on with giant orange eyebrows, you would be perfect for casting as one of the original Oompa-Loompas. :P

Seriously though, the jacket looks really great. :notworthy:

I'm a Wested 38" (80s fit) and a Todd's Medium. Both fit the same. Hope that helps. ;-)

The only thing I don't like about my Todd's are the super small pockets. It can barely hold even my car keys. In my opinion, the Todd's may be very SA, but it's far from useful as a daily jacket as my Wested washed goat.

Well, in Raiders, all we see Indy use the pockets for is to stuff his gloves into.

I usually wear around a 48 and owned a XXL Todd's (well, it was custom but had an XXL tag). It fit me but was a little too snug for my tastes.

I'm a 44 short (I know, they don't make that anymore), so I ordered a Todd's XL yesterday. We will see how it fits. I just don't want the extra back length that I would see in the XXL. I'm going to have the sleeves taken in either way. If the XL is too tight across the chest I'll just have to order the XXL and eat the shipping on the return.

I hate being in between like this. If it's close I might try to stretch it a bit, or see if there is enough material for it to be let out a half inch or so.

I will let you all know.

I am a 44 Reg. and I have a XL. The length is ok (maybe the back is a tad short). The chest fits fine for me but the waist and stomach area is a little big (an 80's cut it's NOT).

Thanks for the input. That's good to hear, except about the extra room around the waist and stomach. I really don't have a gut on me so I guess it might be loose there. Maybe I'll have to start eating more!

Hi there, I'm sorta new and just really starting to get into gathering all the Indy gear. I've never owned a leather jacket before and I measured and this is what I got...
32" - sleeve
45" - chest
26" - back
44" - waist
So should I get a XL? On Todd's website, he says that if you want a snug fit you should add 4" to the chest or 6" for a looser fit. I emailed him and he said that they did not know how I wanted it to fit me, but I've got no clue. I mean I don't want it really tight, but I don't want it really loose either. What do you guys think?

Jacket sizing chart from Todd's website:

M 33" 44" 24½" 42"
L 34" 46" 25" 44"
XL 35" 48" 25¼" 46"
XXL 36" 50" 25¾" 48"

okay.

I figured I could post here since this is a Todd thread.

that lambskin Todd use...what can you compare it with? similiar to the special offer rola lambskin from wested or even thinner?

and can it really stand up to normal day to day use.it wont cut and snag as soon as it hits the doorframe or something? or do I have to watch every corner I turn for sharp thingies?

I have been wondering about this for a long time..

The leather is a smooth lamb about half the weight of a Wested lamb, obviously thinner. However, it is sewn together well, and the metal hardware is ample. A smaller gauge zip is used, but it is sufficient for the task. Obviously because of the thinner leather, it drapes better, and has no leather facings. Overall, arguably the most screen accurate Raiders jacket being offered at the moment.

Ideally, this jacket is both a good costume jacket and a good everyday jacket.

I don't know how I missed this on the website. I think I just bought the wrong size :( Are the gussets included in that chest measurement?

Gussets are more for functional, range of motion/lateral arm movement. These standard jackets are made with gussets.

I understand what they are for as I have them on other jackets of mine. Some people include them as part of the chest measurement if they are located under the arm. This however doesn't seem to be an accurrate way to measure a chest, since they collapse and are part of the arm. I was just wondering if Todd is counting the gussets in that measurement around the chest. If that is the case, maybe this is why these jackets have so many reviews of feeling snug for thier size.

:?

I have a Todd's standard and a Wested custom Novapelle. The pockets are actually a quarter inch narrower on my Wested. They are almost exactly the same height on both, right about 7.5" from the bottom edge to the top edge of the flap.

I would have to say that there isn't really a significant difference between them. I can barely fit my hands into the top of the flapped pocket on either jacket, although the handwarmer pockets are functional on both.

What is interesting, and noticeable upon direct comparison, is the pocket placement in relation to the zipper. The Wested right pocket is an inch closer to the zipper than Todd's. The Wested left pocket is a quarter inch closer than Todd's.

To put this thread back on topic; I wear a 44 jacket and the Todd's XXL fits me well, although slightly looser than I would like across the chest. I would like to try a Todd's XL but I think that it might be too snug. My Wested custom 80s cut Raiders pattern has a 44 collar tag and fits me very well.

Something that I haven't seen mentioned is that the Todd's standard does have underarm gussets. Not quite as large as the Wested gussets, but still very functional.

Well my size L OTR jacket came in yesterday and even though I sized up, it was a little to snug in the shoulders. I'm 5'10.5" 180 and probably need to loose a few lbs. for a better look, so that starts now.

I measured the back length and found it to be an inch shorter than the posted length for L, Todd said there can be some small variations.
All other measurements were correct. I hope the XL is longer as I am a little long waisted.

Fortunately he jacket fits my oldest son perfectly so now it's a birthday present for him and I ordered an XL for me today.

My second son liked the looks of the jacket so much I ended up ordering him a medium, he's 5' 6" 110 and the large was a little to big.

Just doing our part to keep Todd in business. ;-)

I have to say that the jacket looks awesome, I can't wait for the XL to arrive.
Got to get used to the backwards zipper though.

Nothing like a matching family posse, huh? :) Lost track of the amount of times my wife, son and I end up at a cafe all accidently wearing the same style of Cons! You may need to forward plan your wardrobe choices on outings.
