sorry if this was covered at one time but i did a search and din't find anything close to what i was looking for ......
anyways back to my question.i bought from todds 2 dark brown bands for my hats one i put on my old grandpas hat which i then raised the crown on and it looks good but to small for my head now ( given to my son )but i love my dorfman, but to change the band i would have to take off the lining? i was wondering if anyone has done it and did they have to sacrifice their lining ---or should i find a hat repair place to do it?
replacing a band on a hat with inside lining?

Hello, I believe Dalex has a tutorial on ribbon replacement, unfortunately, I can't remember if it addressed what to do with the liner.
******* EDIT: here's the link to Dalexs site http://www.dalexs.whitvani.net/
From what I recall reading here, removing most liners is not difficult as they are glued in with just a spot of glue. If you do a search on removing the liner there should be info for you.
Peace.

I rebashed my Dorfman and changed the ribbon on it. Here is the link to that thread:

To do so, I simply pulled on the lining, which released the glue used to put in in place. When I was done, I simply put it back with a dot of glue.
It is really easy and doesn't damage the hat at all. Don't be afraid to pull that liner out to do your work. It'll go right back in.[
