That's what they cost when I ordered from WPG back in June.. had they raised the price and now lowered them again?

That's what I paid back in June as well. I was surprised that so many people were spending $100+ on Ebay for a MkVII when WPG has tons of them at a reasonable price. Just don't order one that is beat up, because WPG sent me a bag with tons of writing in magic marker on the outside. They are very good about returns, so I exchanged mine for a better one.

I think I remember Endicott's selling them for $35 a while back. That's what I paid for mine.

I have an unissued MKVII from endicotts and one in a "lesser quality" grade and let me tell you that the so called "lesser quality" is still in darn good condition. And of course the unissued is perfect.

Is Endicott's only selling the MK VI now? I cannot find the VII anywhere on the site.

Try send him an email, he usually answers quite promptly and if he doesn't have them he will tell you when he gets them back... and let us know too ;-)

I take it the MKVI is not screen-accurate?

You guys probably know about the Mk VII's at Soldier of Fortune?
http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/reenactors/index.asp
Just search for VII Bag.
I bought mine from them at the time, as I do historical re-enactment, but prices appear to have gone up...
Still, nice bags though...

Really? Because the MKVI is a heckuva lot cheaper than the VII's...
You aren't referring to the FX bag, are you?

Actually I remember MKVIs being more expensive than the VII because more rare... but if you people don't like them that's fine, leave them all to me
Yes I'm referring to the bridge scene. It was worn by Ford in the film hence, on my book, is screen accurate. ;-)

Ha ha! Yes, I second both these sentiments! Although I use my MkVII every day, I actually prefer my MarkVI. It's better made, looks better, and I can get more in it. The quality of the materials used seems a lot higher than those used for the MkVII (I'm thinking especially of all the brass used for the strap fittings, the front D rings, hooks, sliders etc.). I assume that at that point during the war, austerity measures hadn't quite caught up with the manufacturing process so they were able to make a more durable item. Interestingly, both my bags are dated 1941, so I assume they were made in the same year.

Heh heh! I assure you we are open though. ;-)
Maybe they actually fought over the bag because it was so rare! (Especially with the 3 ventilation holes!) "The bag is mine!!!!"

3 sankara stones, 3 holes.
Nice symetry.
Since he only had one stone left, Shiva must have magically changed the bag to a mark VII again when they travelled back to the village...

I got an unissued "mint" bag from Endicotts as well. That bag not only looks good and acts functional...it is also one tough SOB!

No but ask Kevin directly
I don't know what's his current situation with the MKVIIs but he always gets them back if they are temporarly out of stock.
You can leave the MkVIs to the people who appreciate them ;-) ;-)

I've had my REAL bag since '89. Still as good as the day I got it. IT CAN TAKE THE ABUSE! ;-)
