True Bag Strap

First off, I'm new, so hello all.

Take a look at the bag strap below (this is an LC shot I think). Now of all the leather bag straps I've seen, nothing that anyone is selling looks close to what's in this picture.

See how the light hints of a bevel along the edge? Maybe that's the product of a great distressing job, but it really reminds me of a strap like this:

Looking at the indy picture, the leather on the strap looks remarkably like the whip leather at his side. The bag strap in that screen snap is a more refined strap than the simple strip of leather straps I've seen being sold.

I've seen folks go on about jackets, pleats on pants and whips, but I'm surprised that when I did a forum search, I couldn't find anything about the search for one of the most visible pieces of gear. Granted, I am new, am I missing a good bag strap post?

First of all, Cooper, welcome! Pull up a chair and stay a while. ;-)

Second, there are TONS of posts about the bag strap if you comb through these pages. You'll find plenty of spirited debate on the subject, too! :)

Ok, I finally found this topic:

This is the debate I've been looking for (and expecting to find).

I've come to the conclusion that the raiders strap is very different and is indeed, more of a rough strip. I'm still convinced that the LC strap is more akin to a nicely worn watch strap or fine rifle strap.
