Can anyone speak to the quality of the rubber Webley sold by Western Stage props? I realize it isn't a Webley "Green", but I don't think anyone is selling replicas of the exact gun, and I would like a Webley to go with my gear.

Does anyone have this product? Thoughts?

from what i recall, it's not even a webley mk vi......i think it's a casting of the baby webley (mk iv?)........38 calibre.

it's webley-like if that is what you are after. i do not know the quality of the cast though.

It's a rough cast - I can post up some pics if you want. For a stuffer it's pretty good - but as a SA, not so much. It's more of a stunt gun for falling down with etc

So what is my best source for a good looking replica?

see if you can get on rook's next resin run of the webley wg. i have one and am extremely happy with the price and craftsmanship. it may be a while though as i'm not sure when he's done enjoying the remnants of summer.

I got one of these Webleys for Christmas. The casting is pretty good. It doesn't come painted at all, just black rubber. It is the .38 Webley though so it's no bigger than a typical S&W in terms of frame and barrel length. I contacted them about returning it and they have a 30 day return policy seemingly without hassle. I'm going to hang onto it, but it's expensive for a not SA rubber gun. I sent an e-mail to WSP's customer service telling them they should change the language in the description to more accurately reflect the gun they are offering. Currently it reads "This version was the largest of Webley gun family with a hefty 6 inch barrel." The .38 Webley most definitely does not match this description.

HA! Maybe it was the largest of the .38 caliber Webleys.

The size comparison between the WG and the MK IV (or for that matter, the MK VI) is quite a bit.

I got a response from WSP that they have been selling the Webley for 10 years and mine was the first complaint they have ever had. Probably because they just started marketing their Webley as an Indiana Jones gun. The reply also said it's possible the mold got changed to the .38 and they would look into it.

That WG is one big hand-cannon. Check out this add from 1957. Indy wouldn't have been out too many bucks in replacing the WG the ruskies took from him ( albiet for a MKVI instead ).



Wish those were available at that price today - you could buy of 4 of them as opposed to a prop gun and still have enough $ left over for dinner! ( man, I've gotta build me a time machine )
