NH shirt fit
Before I ask the question, yes, I do know about the current condition of Noel Howard gear. But I would like to ask this question any ways.
How does your Noel Howard shirt fit you? Usually I wear a size large, and I am 6'1" and 200 pounds.
Does anyone agree that a Large would fit me?

Jnicktem,
My MBA and NH shirts have a narrower cut to them, especially in the chest and down through the waist. The cuffs on the sleeves are a bit snug when buttoned, and I don't have thick wrists by any means. I believe it was designed by Noel with the 80's fit in mind, as it's supposed to be patterned from an original. At least, that's what I've read over the years. I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs., and I wear a size Medium. I have a slim build (40" chest, 31" waist), so the Medium is a perfect fit.
I'd say if you have broad shoulders or large arms, a size Large might be a bit snug. Hopefully, someone who wears a size Large will chime in here and give you some measurements.
On a side note, the NH shirt is at the top of my list. If you can get ahold of one of the last of Noel's shirts, you will be very happy! I hope it works out for you.
Kind regards,
Craig

Thanks serrecuir!
I kind of had the feeling that a Large might be a bit snug. I do have broad shoulders. The only thing is I plan to loose another 10-15 pounds (lost 40 pounds this summer). So a lot of XL's are way too big for me now, and large's have been fitting quite nice.
Thanks for the reply!
Anyone that has a NH Large, or even an XL, could you let me know your size and how well the shirt fits you?

Re: NH shirt fit
Just to add my to cents
I have one of Noels lasts ROLA-Shirts in "L", bought back in 2007.
It fits quite good, maybe a bit loose (lost 8 pounds recently).
I am 6.1 feet (186cm), chest 39"-40" (~98cm), 160 pounds.
"M" would be better at the chest (but I guess still too small and the sleeves would be definitely to short)
My shirt is a too bit short at the waist. The AB shirt from Marc ist a few cm longer, but also wider (in "L"). But as already stated, Noels ROLA shirt cut is a bit slim (contrary to the dark buttons shirt, which is definitely wider - I have both of them).
If you really loose that weight, you could try "L", alternatively the LC shirt in "L" (its cut is wider).
I hope it helps a bit.
Best regards

MisterJones, your two centsis worth every cent! Every bit of info I get helps me out.
For what it sounds like, a Large would fit me, but it would be a bit snug. An XL would without a doubt fit, but I might have too much room (which I think is okay, sometimes).
Hmmm, this might give me an idea... do these shirts shrink at all?

I don't think so, I washed my Raiders shirt several times (max 40°), but I don't think it shrunk.jnicktem wrote: Hmmm, this might give me an idea... do these shirts shrink at all?
If you are still unsure with your size, you could check
http://www.jones-jr.com/cost_chemise.html - this site contains some good info on NH gear. Another way would be to measure your neck/chest and sleeve length. Please check: http://www.wikihow.com/Measure-Your-Nec ... eve-Length.
Neck: I have a neck of 39"/40", the NH shirt _may_ fit 41", but I don't think 42".
Sleeves: I just measured the sleeves of my Raiders shirt. Measure one of your good fitting shirts like in the picture - number 2, from the beginning of the shoulder stitch (or the epaulette at my shirt) to the end of the sleeve: 25,5" (65cm).
If the sleeves of your shirt are longer, it is likely, that they the standard NH "L" won't fit, but don't surrender, NH had a "long sleeve"-version (5cm longer - in this case, ask Gemma).
I hope you choose ... let's say wisely

Then I probably need a XXL at 6'3" 215 lbs. I wonder if Peter has any; haven't heard back from Gemma.jedidentist wrote:Definitely XL. I'm 6'3" and 165 and I need an XL. They shrink and they're a short cut.

I am a similar size and the XXL is "snug". I can wear it ok though.jnicktem wrote:How would an XXL hold up to someone who is 6'5" tall and 240 pounds?
For the original poster, I agree with XL.
(edit) Noel said to me the "look" was a snugger fit to the shirt, especially around the waist, and baggier trousers, also pulled in at the waist by the belt.
BTW Gemma just said by phone they still have some NH Raiders XXL shirts left, although no LC shirts.

Just got my XXL. The shirt should be long enough, but you may need to add a button or two. A tailor could easily handle that, I'm sure. And the sleeves are long enough, too.jnicktem wrote:Thanks ReturningSon, I have heard that the XXL Todd's shirts were short (length wise), and someone said that a Todd's XXL shirt would not fit someone who is 6'5" tall.

I'm 6'3" 215 lbs and wear a 16.5/34-35 shirt. How would a XXL be? I was afraid a XL would be too snug. I just ordered a XXL from Gemma.Chewbacca Jones wrote:Just got my XXL. Ha! Talk about service, the mailman just came to the door and presented me with my new Noel Howard shirts! I tried both of them on, and both of them fit! Of course, one fits better than the other. The XL fits me best length wise, chest wise, sleeve wise (What I am trying to get at is it fits PERFECTLY!). The Large fits me every way except length, which makes it difficult to tuck in (it is still possible, though).
And I know, ;0
And I know, ;0
Okay, just took a couple of pics. Here is me wearing the XL:

Looking at the pics, I'm glad I ordered a XXL.jnicktem wrote:Okay, just took a couple of pics. Here is me wearing the XL:

As you can see, it is almost identical to my XL, except the length. The chest and sleeves feel the same. In the last pic, the bottom of the shirt (on the sides) is just an inch or so below the belt line, so it can easily come untuck. However, it still works!

Now that I have had a few days to wear (and practically sleep in) my NH shirts, it is my belief that the size Large actually fits better than the XL! I think the reason is is because I am used to loose fitting clothes, and naturally like a little extra room. When trying on the NH shirts, I wasn't used to the form fitting shirt, and because of that I thought the XL fit best. But now I feel there is almost too much room in the XL, because I don't think it is supposed to be as loose as it is.
I still like the XL, but I might be wearing the Large more often. The great news is, BOTH fit me, so depending on whether or not I want something tighter or looser I can just switch shirts!

I agree, the large looks better. The sleeves on the XL look a little puffy. The fitted look of the large seems more SA.jnicktem wrote:Now that I have had a few days to wear (and practically sleep in) my NH shirts, it is my belief that the size Large actually fits better than the XL!
