There's a lot wrong with the bullwhip as made in the video. The .pdf is only slightly better.
The video is giving out a lot of mis-information about making a bullwhip.
*His core is rectangle shaped.
*He wipes off the plaiting soap making it virtually useless for lubricating the strands for plaiting.
*Strands are way to thin for the thong
Then he basically has no mention of the fall and the cracker.
My favorite part of the video is when he says something like, "plait it nice and tight" then they show the whip and some of the plaits are soo loose, I could put my thumb through them.
If anyone wanted to learn to make a whip a good place would be David Morgan's books and Ron Edward's book. Skip this video and spend those 4 minutes telling your significant other, child or parents that you love them and it will be a more rewarding 4 minutes of your life.

Hey Louie you're right bro skip this vid. I just thought it was cool that Kipkay tried to make a whip. I only know the guy to make cool electronic stuff. Guess his skills are not for whip making.
This video could be called how not to make a whip Right.

It's cool, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

You gotta start somewhere.
I personally think it is a nice effort (it did crack after all).
But I am not sure I would have told other people to do it that way!

I agree...ANYONE can make a whip, but it takes far more to make a GOOD whip...And even more for a GREAT whip...Still, to each his (or her) own...
The really, really odd thing is that I'm about 99.5% sure that leather shop was the Tandy Leather I go to in Tampa.....Perhaps I should set the record straight and start a MAKE channel of my own...Lord knows I've done enough projects....And I'm handy with a 'corder....

It's nifty for a day project, but it certainly ain't a serious whip...There's simply a better way.
then again, A video really detailing the way to make a whip would be more like a study-at-home course...
