What's to say? Both very nice jackets.
The Wings looks nearly black to me. Nicer pockets on the G&B, by far.
The Wings pockets look CS. Love the graininess near the stormflap on the Wings. The G&B has the better collar, but it's a very chocolate brown colour I'm not a fan of.

did you have a tailor change out the lining?

I'd be interested in hearing that answer as well!

Also notice that the shoulder seam on the wings is too far forward compared to the jackets on screen...

Yeah I had a tailor switch it out. She did a great job (no problems) and it didn't cost that much as I remember. Cheers

Those are terrific pics! They should definitely help in people's jacket search.
They have helped me decide... I'm saving up for a Magnoli!

What color is that G&B???
I like that. In fact I wish mine was that color.
Thanks.

IIRC, from the thread where Rundquist had posted the pics originally, it was the "regular" seal brown.
G&B describes the "regular" seal color as milk chocolate, compared to the "dark chocolate" of their dark seal.

See, when I bought mine I didn't even know there was a choice. I went to their website and added the goat Expo to my cart and there was no choice for color. It simply said "Dark Brown Goat".
Maybe some year I'll get another one.

Great looking jackets Rundquist! Did your Wings jacket have the 50/50 cotton/poly lining, or something else? What is the lining now?
Your post illustrates to me why so many of us have so many jackets from different vendors. Subtle differences, great craftsmanship. Who could possibly settle for just one? Or in my case three?
Opps, make that four.
So far.

Man, I wish the ladies over at MY sewing shop would take lessons from YOUR tailor. I need a lining changed out of my VIP, and they shied away from the job.

Of all the Indiana Jones jackets that I’ve ever had, this Wings is the one that I felt that I’d never given a fair shake to (even though it's 7 or 8 years old, it's practically brand new). It was the first jacket that I bought after finding this site. Admittedly, I wasn’t crazy about the original lining material, which I really don’t think they use anymore (unless maybe it’s an “oldstock” jacket). Also, to be fair, some people would probably not have a problem with it. My dad has one and it doesn’t bother him. Anyway, I switched out the lining. It was a very easy operation and the result was seamless. Michaelson, maybe you might try to have somebody else look at it. I would hesitate to say exactly what the material is. It just seemed much like a smooth cloth that other jackets have linings made from.
By the time I got that Wings jacket the way I wanted it, I had a full-blown case of the fever. I bought 2 Westeds. Then I was onto G&B. I gave the Wings to a family member. I could still wear and evaluate it today, except that it’s too big a jacket for me these days. I’ve sort of retired from buying & trying Indy jackets at this point (take that with a grain of salt). I’ve been afraid to visit Tony Nowak, even though he’s only ten minutes away from me. I’m not really a “LC/CS” man at all. I’m also not a big fan of pre-distressed leather. However, if the rumors are true that he may offer a Raiders jacket, curiosity would get the better of me and I’d at least have to see it. Even though I’m not really a fan aesthetically of his CS jacket, you can tell it’s got super quality. Cheers

That's strange. I had the lining of my USW goat changed for black cotton lining with no problem what so ever. The tailor did a really good job, but they do specialise in leather garments.

I may have to go back and talk to the head of the shop. What I'm hearing here and what I was told aren't lining up right.
I have a feeling the young lady just didn't have the technical skills required, as I've NEVER had a problem before with the shop.
I'll take another stab at it. Thanks!

My shop specializes in leather work too, so that's why I've been confused about the whole thing.
We'll give 'er another shot!
Thanks again!

I'm sorry Michaelson! That's the "punniest" thing I've heard all day!

Sorry. With such short notice, I couldn't come up with anything better.....but at least ONE person caught it. 8-[

The G&B is closer to the original run of horsehide jackets that Wested did years ago. I still have mine!
