thought it might be cool to start a thread for the senior jackets that some of us have.

if you have a old well worn Indy jacket with lots of wear and tear,then display it here

How are we to tell the old from the 'artificially aged' though?

Would be nice to try and guess those that are the real deal, and those that have had some help!

Again, how are we to tell? I guess everyone on this forum seems honest enough though...and not likely to pretend a new but distressed jacket is actually many years old!
Bring on the old jackets then! I've already seen some pics of nice old jackets on here; they're what I hope my jackets will look like after enough time and wear.

yes I ment the old Indy jackets with honest distressing on it.real life distressing in other words.

Here's the jacket you were asking about Holt.
Its a Wested TOD jacket. Size 42 off the rack. New Finish dark brown cow.
The way that this jacket was aged can probably never be replicated. And there's a good reason.....

I got it as a birthday gift in 7th grade, and my parents figured that they should get me a jacket a couple sizes too large so that I could grow into it. (I was about 4-6 inches shorter then) I wore it to school every single day that year. The way i sit in the school desks, with my arms up always had the sleeves of the jacket in a bent position, and because it was too big for me, it was always bowing open, like in this picture.

As soon as I started wearing it I wore it in every condition imaginable. I used it as a rain jacket, storm jacket, platform to look underneath cars on...whatever you can think up. I even used it to cover the bottom of subwoofers with so they woulden't get scratched up during transportation.

So, there were times where I would be standing out in the rain for maybe an hour waiting for the bus, every day for a whole month. and as soon as I would get off the bus, jacket soaked, I would be sitting in these chairs for 7 hours. That's the main reason I'm guessing as to why the jacket looks so raiders like. I grew into it, and it conformed to me because of how I wore it. So I can't comment on if it shrunk or not, because I honestly don't know. I was about a half foot shorter and weighed 40lb more, and had no muscular build at all....so....

that is an great jacket and will last you a life time, I got mine this summer and it's goat skin I hope mine looks as good in 6 years. enjoy

I posted these in a thread earlier this year, this is my Wested which is coming up on 9 years now. Lambskin with satin lining.

All real distressing - I abused the living heck out of this jacket. One confession is the (screen) left pocket which I was messing around with a knife in front of a campfire before deciding I didn't like it.

Great idea for a thread Holt! All of the jackets shown so far look AWESOME! I'm looking forward to seeing more of these naturally aged beauties!
