My Todd's standard

Hi there,
I just realized that I haven't posted any pics of my Todd's standard in XL yet. Originally I had planned to let it distress naturally, but it looked just too new and shiny for my taste, so I threw it in the bathtub for a few seconds.
I guess during the process of drying it shrank quite a little bit (app. half an inch less longer sleeves), but it still fits well.
I have to say I really like that jacket...
best regards,
Lukas

Actually it's probably the most SA Raiders on the market right now. As for common concerns about the durability of the leather? ...It's LEATHER!!!
A large percentage of us pretty much baby our jackets anyway.

Well, I tried to dry it as slow as possible. I believe the jacket might shrink A LOT more if you use a dryer or something similar, that's why I put the jacket on a coathanger and... waited.

I'm 6'1" and my weight is 182 lbs or something in that range.

The time I ordered, the jackets were still out of stock. I preordered and had to wait three months or so before it arrived. The shipping itself (from California to Germany) took a little bit over a week if I recall correctly...

The only thing I don't like about my Todds XL is that it fits great around the chest and shoulders but is quite big in the stomach area....you can even see it in the photo above where the leather looks a little "puffed" out in the stomach region. (This jacket would fit great for a guy with a "Homer Simpson" body profile
)

That is one fine looking Coyle's jacket! I'm in agreement with the above statements; it is a darn good leather jacket, and will take alot more abuse than you may think. I've got some pics on my computer somwhere of me rolling down a hill a ending up on a pile of sharp rocks. The jacket still looks new after many such events! Enjoy it.

My straps lay against the back as well, maybe Indiana LV reversed his.
I am really impressed with this jacket as well. It will be very comfortable to wear on cool October-November days and nights.

yes, I reversed them myself, it's a bit more comfortable for me.
Would it be more screen accurate to reverse them again?

Looks awesome! Great fit. Just ordered a large (I'm 6 foot, 175 lbs), hope it's going to be big enough.

does anyone wear their todds standards as a regular jacket or keep it purely for Indy costume purposes? i wore mine going to work the other day just to crease it up a bit and get it more worn in and a few people complemented it, think i'll wear it more often now!

I'm close to that at 6'1" and 200lbs.
What size did you buy? I'm considering an XXL as their size chart says it's a 44-46.

Everyday, unless it is ridiculously hot. I wear it to work, with jeans and a ball cap. Today it was at an apple packing plant, in an old industrial building half abandoned, groping in the dark and the cobwebs with a flashlight. Seems like the right kind of environment for an Indy jacket.

Reading back I see you bought an XL. Now I'm wondering if XXL would be too large. I can wear a 44 in some coats but I've no idea how Todd cuts his jackets. Do they run large or small????

I'd go 2X. I'm 6' 200lbs and I had an XL. It looked aaaaaaaalmost right, but the straps sat just a tad too high. The concensus seems to be: order up, if in doubt.

I'm 6'3", 215 lbs. I'm hoping XXL would fit. Should I chance it? I can always return it or sell it.

I've had my Todd's for a little over a week now and this weekend I started the distressing processes. I soaked the jacket it water, put it into the washing machine wrapped in a towel and spun it twice. Then I used a fresh dry towel to squeeze out and wipe off any excess water. I then wore it the rest of the weekend. It thus dried to my body shape and I got those great folds and that elbow bend in the sleeves. It looks great!

Reviving an old one as I'm doing a search on the Todd's standards. There's a thread where a standard has a really close "temple" collar look (I'm thinking of the bigger/wider collar as on Holt's last Raiders) but I can't find it. I did find this one where the collar seems to really mimic the temple look as well. Do most Standards have this type of collar (by the way IndianaLV, great looking jacket).
