Arrived a few minutes ago with my "Skull" jacket:

Very noticeable olive hue but beautifully soft lamb. This will see a lot of use when it's too hot for thicker jackets.

Ah, another one. I think I may be OK with the olive hue. Indy's jacket in the temple in Raiders also looks a little olive. In fact his jacket hardly ever looks brown in Raiders.

Look at that picture of the back  That leather must be extremely soft! Never mind the hue, I love the way that leather looks.

Thanks for the feedback. Here are a couple of pics of the jacket being worn. I'm used to longer sleeves - does this look okay?

Nice looking jacket but the sleeves are perhaps a bit short.

I really like this leather, it has a beautiful drape. As for your sleeves, I find them slightly short

IMO the colour looks very well at the daylight. I don't see any olive hue here. About the sleeves: just pull down them gently a little a couple of times, and they will look right.

Funnily enough, I was just about to post something similar. Either the jacket's freed up a little or I'm standing differently but it now seems a perfect fit with the sleeves around an inch from my knuckles!

Hey, the jacket looks great worn outdoors. The sleeves would be too short for my liking. How tall are you, and what size did you order?

Hi whiskyman. The sleeves are actually okay - they've "given" a little and the photo's deceptive. As Heyjude7 says, I think it depends how you're wearing it but there is also some movement.

I'm just over 6'2" and I ordered a 44. I'm comfortable with the sizing and, as I'm currently looking to lose some weight, the sleeves will only improve with time.

That's a really great looking jacket and I'm glad the sleeve problems have resolved themselves. I was nervous after reading about the olive hue, but it's only under certain lighting conditions and the drape and feel of the leather more than make up for it.

send it to me.I am a 44

I know what you mean about the sleeves. With my G&B it depends on how I'm wearing the jacket. If it's zipped all the way up the sleeves are just about too short. If the jacket is open and off the shoulders the sleeves are long.

The jacket looks solid

After a few days of consideration, I ended up going down the custom route (which I originally didn't know was available with this hide) on this and the Veg Tanned "Crystal Skull" jacket. Will post pics soon but the new jackets which arrived today are definitely an improvement in both body and sleeve length.

look foreward to seeing your new jacket. :)

The sleeves may not be SA but they are period accurate. In the 1930's sleeves were worn higher up the wrist. I think yours are fine and the jacket looks good. There's a famous Howard Hughs photo of him in a leather jacekt next to his Spruce Goose and his sleeves are even shorter.

So you sent back those 2 new jackets?

I have a question for you, how long after you ordered your washed lamb did it arrive at your front door?

I'm just curious so I know about how long I can expect to wait.

My washed lamb arrived in 9 days, but I'm in Italy... :-k

Well shipping to the US doesn't take long, since I received my NH shirts 4 days after ordering. It has now been 14 days since my order was "processed for production."

Sorry, 15 days.

You'll have to take customs into consideration: that can sometimes delay jackets for a couple of weeks.

As I was waiting on 2 jackets, my wait for longer than normal. I think it was about 2.5 weeks in total.

by jnicktem
Well, if it is about 2.5 weeks, mine should be coming soon. Did you get an e-mail notification when it shipped?

No, I've never received e-mail confirmation of shipping. I tend to ring up and Gemma's always able to tell me where the items are up to and when they'll ship.

Here's my custom replacement. I'm a lot more comfortable with the length this time around.

Is that a washed lamb? (I'm no good with leathers...).

Yep, it's the limited washed lamb.

Cheers! My original jacket was a 44 regular. This was too short so I asked for a further 2.5" in the sleeves and 2" in the body. I'm 6'3" and 90kg.

Judging by those measurements, my washed lamb should fit perfectly! I can't wait for it to arrive (should be this week!).

Thanks! :notworthy:

The jacket's wearing in well (particularly the sleeves) but I'm struggling to rid myself of the packing creases, clearly seen in the pic of the front of my new custom.

Will these eventually disappear with time? The creases are quite well imbedded in the leather.

A little water and tumble in cool dryer with a couple of clean tennis shoes for about an hour will really do wonders, at least it did for my washed goat.......Hatch

Dug this out of the wardrobe for the first time this year and noticed the "croc" effect on the washed lamb hide that I hadn't noticed before!

I think this is the leather feature that many pick up on in shots from the movie. I could have sworn the leather was smooth when it was new! :?
