Tips to remove the dreaded Bean crease?

I have read of the woes of the crease. I just received mine today and, while they are very nice pants, there is the ever present crease. I tried ironing, inside and out, and also reversing the crease and ironing that. It may have de-emphasized it a bit, but just abit. I have another pair (not Beans) with a "permanent" crease, and they have developed the time-honored, well-worn, lighter-colored line right down the center of each leg. However, the crease is about gone. Oddly enough, I believe those are taupe also. I believe I also read that a dry cleaner's press will not remove it either. It does seem to me that I should try to get this out before washing them. Or maybe that would help. I don't know. Any thoughts?

Dry cleaning. HJS took his NH pants a few weeks ago, and that nasty crease is GONE.

Well, I am not sure. I called my local cleaners and was told that their press wouldn't take it out either. So the NH pants come with a wicked crease, too?

Indeed they do. Maybe the crease is easier to take out because the NH's are wool....?

Could be. When I told the cleaners the pants were all cotton, albeit of the wrinkle resistant variety, she said I'd probably always have the creases. Well, they are nice pants. The crease is a minor point, but, you know, I'd like it gone

Hey, DrJ,
The LLBean pants you have? What material did you get them in? I wondered if I ordered the blend (I got the all cotton, wrinkle resistant), if they would come without the crease.
Would have posted this to the board, but since you're in the middle of the thread, I wasn't sure if you'd see the note.
Thanks

Either variety comes with the crease. I've even called to try and see if they can ship them out before "creasing" them, but that was a no-go as well.
We're stuck with the crease until they decide to change back to no crease again . . .If ever.
I've had my newer, creased versions for over a year now, have worn them hundreds of times and the crease remains ever present.
Maybe if enough people complain, Bean will take notice.
Hope this helps.
