as far as tools go to make a hat? i've read mark brody's tutorial, marc's AB deluxe turorial, scientific hatmaking book, and numerous posts.

i'm thinking of ordering steve delk's raiders block from lamode with a flange, in my size of course. do i need a flange stand? i could possibly find a rounding jack from a hattery here.

now when i get the hat on the block, how do i get the brim break in? is the body still on the block when i iron the brim down? i'm thinking no because you typically want the block taller than the finished crown. if so, how do you make sure that the brim breaks at the exact level of the crown?

sorry for the dumb questions but i've been contemplating making some hats for myself. any info would be appreciated.

thanks,

g

you will need the hat stand to go with the flange. I have a rounding jack for sale.
