Hi, I want to introduce my new whip - it's 16 plt Indy with 2 plaited belly's - 6 and 10 plt. The turkshead is balanced with lead. It's my version of whip showed in this topic viewtopic.php?t=31664 .

I don't know much about making nylon whips, but you mentioned the butt is lead loaded.

I've always heard that typically nylon whips have the thong loaded to make up for the nylon being lighter than leather. Is the thong also loaded or is the whip really butt heavy?

Hello, Louie have you seen the nylon whip tutorial over at the RPF? I
just finished making my 1st whip using this tutorial. So there will be others with more experience to answer your question, but yes it seems they load the thongs with BB's or in the case of this tutorial ball chain.
