It's great Wested has so many offerings of different Indy jackets......there's a jacket for pretty much everyone's taste. I like the new "Veg Tanned" washed lamb.....very unique. Looks like Peter is going all out now to separate his business from the rest of the pack.

I'm waiting for the Raiders jacket in the ltd edition Presley "gold lame"

all I can say is more ROLA options please.

I purchased one too. Like I posted in another thread, I was all set for the washed goat until I saw that washed lamb and couldn't resist.

Hopefully, there's a washed goat in my future.

I'm very tempted by the washed lambskin limited edition.........

Has anybody tried the veg tanned lambskin? 'cause I thought that looked incredible. Okay, it's not very 'Indy', but it's still an amazing looking jacket.

I'm really tempted...

I almost pulled the trigger on a Tony Nowak this morning,then got in the car and its leaking trans fluid, so end of that dream. I saw the wested stuff looked awesome too, almost bought one last night but thought I'd better sleep on it.so for now it's me and my wested otr goat. I do love my jacket.

One "bad" thing about owning so many jackets at once is that it becomes incredibly hard to distress a jacket naturally......you have to wear one jacket pretty much all time while others just sit in the closet. It's a good thing my TN and washed goat already come predistressed.

That's a really good point, actually. Luckily (for my wallet, at least), I managed to resist getting another jacket. I adore my current one, and having another one would kinda spoil it, in an odd way (if that makes any sense).

Plus it was my 21st Birthday present with the plan of wearing it forever, so owning two again kinda would counter that.

Besides, it's horsehide and gonna take ten years and an air raid to distress anyway, so I don't need to go slowing that down!

Still really wanna see the Veg Tanned Lambskin though if someone orders it, 'cause I really think it looks great (in a nice unique non-Indy way).

I agree that the more jackets you have, the less you might treasure each individual one, since you'd probably end up taking them for granted. I also do agree that if treated right, a horsehide may be able to last one an entire lifetime! Or at least a good many decades...

But for those of you who think it will last forever, I do have have a word of advice. I have a cowhide jacket that I bought new almost a decade ago, and I never treated it. It saw me through a heavy winter, several tropical summers, and some time in closet-retirement. Now, it feels like a plastic sheet, and not as soft and buttery as it used to be.

Also Vivli, if that jacket is to last you forever, I hope you have considered the weight you'll be gaining (muscular or otherwise) later in life, since I'm sure many folks on this board can attest they are nowhere near the same shape they were when they were 21. I've taken the same precautions, and ordered a kind-of-wide variety of jacket sizes just to be on the safe side...

Maybe that need for treatment is directly related to the quality of leather or something, I've got a really old Harley Davidson jacket that's been through a lot and it was old when I got it from my step dad (who never treated it with anything) still looks great, though it hasn't been worn in several years now. Still very leathery, not like plastic at all.

Heh. Thanks for the advice. Well, maybe 'forever' is a bit optimistic. As long as I can get away with, I'll settle for. It's slightly too big for me now, but I'm pretty skinny at the moment, so I might end up too big for it. Hey, maybe it'll be a good motivator to stay in shape. "My jacket doesn't fit anymore, @#$%, better cut back" or something.

Nah, seriously, I'll wear it for as long as I can. If one day I need to replace it through neccessity, that's different from through a desire to own more jackets, I figure. Heck, even Indy seemed to go through more than one jacket!

Ah to be 21 again and have hair to cut when you go to the barber. Just doesn't seem fair to have to pay full price when you only have half the hair. ha ha
