A great, chaep glove option!

A great, chaep glove option!

Post by JimL »

Hey everyone.

I was in Wal Mart the other day, returning some oil and while trolling the isles afterward, I ran acros a pair of (nice) pigskin leather work gloves, VERY close to the Indy Wells-Lamont gloves.

They have the light tan / off yellow color of the screen gloves (before distressing), rolled edge (no wrong-color cloth wrap on the open end) and - no palm patch!

The best part? The price: these are clearance priced at $5.00/pair!

Brand: Stanley. Size: Only LARGE in my store, Model #: 5613 (above bar code) Name: "Grain Pigskin Leather"

Maybe I should have bought two (or more) pair and marked them up on ebay!

very nice, REAL work gloves for cheap. Distress them, or use them. They are worth every penny of $5.00!

Enjoy...

no pics...

I have to host pictures remotely, and I hate doing that...

Believe me, as a photographer, I certainly appreciate pics!

As a reader, you certainly DONT appreciate pics in old threads disappearing because they were replaced on my photo host right?

Head to Wally world with a fiver and check them out. If not completely satisfied, you have a nice pair of work gloves. :D

Here's a photo of the gloves...

Distressing would make them just about perfect I think...

I've seen those, and you're right....they're nice....but as you mentioned, if you got them on clearance, I have a bad feeling they are being removed from standard stock.

If you find them at that price, GRAB them as you can. They will probably go the way of the dodo bird in short order. That's standard practice for Wally World. :?

I bought one pair, nbecause, well I use work gloves, but later realized these might be good for those on a budget here...

I should have bought them all, and sold them on eBay starting at $10.00! #-o :-$

UK collectors on a budget can find gloves VERY similiar in big Garden Centres under the brand name Town and Country.Same construction and priced at about £10. They have a creamier tan than the originals but a bit of sandpaper and acetone (and lugging rocks in the garden!) will bring them up a treat.
