Re-blocking question...

Post by Modern Jones »

Has anyone had a re-block done through Petersbros lately?

Just curious as to price, sweatband replacement, etc. ...

I'd ask you Fedora, as you're offering a wonderful service, :notworthy: but I need to have the fedora not only re-blocked, but "shrunk" to fit the scale of my face too!

Any info would be great. I know Peterbors is extremely busy, and I just don't want to hassle them for a simple inquiry.

That's quite allright Skip. Basically, I am only interested in reblocking the 7 1/4 sizes, and then only if you are not satisfied with the current block on your hat. I do dimensional cuts too, but Joe does them better as he has the proper brim cutters, etc. For you guys that are interested in me styling your hat without a reblock, I would rather not do it. Why? Well, if the block isn't right to start with, I doubt if you would be satisfied with the results. With my reblock, it is fairly easy to get the Raiders look, but other blocks don't lend themselves to it at all. I guess that's why I bought my own block, along with saving money on expensive reblocks. I do think that my block is superior to 90 per cent of what we can buy. You guys can be the judge when I finish my current project and get the pics posted. Fedora

Thanks Fedora. My big mistake was that I am 7 1/4" and I bought a 7 3/8" (not knowing this when I bought my Fed).

Going to see if Joe can take it down a size. I'm sure he can.

Has anyone brought their fedora's, up or down a size? Success stories I hope!?

Well, then I can help you out on this one. I can shrink anyhat easily. Moving from a 7 3/8 down to a 7 1/4 is no problem at all. It is when you gotta size up that I run into problems. If you are interested in the Fedora rebock, drop me a PM. Fedora

Fedora has done this for me before, with complete success and satisfaction of this hat wearer. Regards. Michaelson

Thanks Michaelson. I am also trying to make my Fed Deluxe into the LC fed. I think it looks great right now, but the "scale" of it to my headsize is a touch too big. (Of course, I want it perfect)

I'd like to keep the crown height lower, believe it or not. In the future, I'll get an Optimo, PBBM or Keppler for the Raiders fedora.
