i saw some of the samples with washed goat and they looked extremely nice (LC/CS). did anyone get one of these wested imports....the raiders offering? its quite new on their site. i did a search and couldn't find anything.
anyways, i should know in a week or so. the pic looked nice on their site but it didn't say if it has d-rings or the sliders.
i ordered a 42 which should give me a fitted look. if i ordered the 44, it would look LC-ish so i went with the thinner cut. i hope everything works out well
if it does, i think my raiders outfit will be complete.

I think my LC washed goat import should be arriving same time as yours.
This looks like very nice leather.

no worries KT...its washed already
whats the scoop on these anyways my friend? d-rings or sliders (black or brass)? 80's cut? sleeve seam beneath the yoke seam?
the things i've seen are brass zip (probably not to the bottom or is it?). it looks like the collar does meet the storm flap at half way. pocket sizing and scalops aren't too bad. unfortunately, there are leather facings. do they fit short or do they have that oldschool "wested TOD" length to them?
sorry for all the questions buddy, but i'd appreciate anything you'd know
in the end, i'm sure i'll be happy with what peter picks out for me as i love the way the hide looks.....i just hope that it fits right

I was looking at the one he used to take the picture of. it's a 44, pretty much the standard Wested Raiders, yes the Stormflap top is rounded, and seems to have the halfway thing going on, it did have square rectangles, I don't recall if it had x boxes and it did have leather facing. Yoke seam is standard straight across lined up. The pockets look a comfortable size and proportion. Not too tall. All in all a very reasonable effort, especially considering the price.
I really like the leather and am DESPERATE for him to get some in so he can make me a custom.

excellent summary my friend......as usual. now i'm extremely excited to get this baby on my shoulders....with your drool and all
i was actually going to pull the trigger on a novapelle raiders version but came across this offering and i recalled your opinion of the hide....which pretty much sold me
you should get peter to give you a commission my friend as i've purchased alot of westeds because of our conversations and what i've read in your posts. thanks buddy

Indiana G, I know you probably know this - but you did ask... these new washed goats are NOT supposed to have the trimmer '80s cut, they are standard spec. Let's see some really good pics when it arrives, congrats!

I got mine in soft goat skin..and it did have the normal standard specs wich I dont like...
funny enough it says on the website it is a special offer rola wich is 80's cut....well they are wrong about that.

that's ok since i've gone with the 42 instead of the 44. i had a size 44 in the standard cut.....and i didn't mind it at all....cept it was too short. i'm hoping they got that modified.
i've gotten to the point where a custom order just leaves me counting stitches/comparing to what i speced. if i order OTR, then i get what i get. if it's something that wested will mass produce with their name on it, i guess its good enough for me

Holt, are you saying that everything else was true to the "ROLA" special except that it was not trim '80s cut...so it had no leather facings, two inside pockets (1 with a zip), and a skinny silver zipper?? But it was regular roomier cut? Wested....(sigh)
If that's wasn't the case, then I'd say that perhaps the order puller just pulled the wrong one to send to you.. I personally feel like there could be some improvement in that regard unfortunately. But if it had all those other ROLA details then who knows? And what burns is that you probably had to pay to send it back - unbelievable!
