Steve's autograph

Post by Indiana G »

all you ab owners....did you ever notice that steve signs the sweats? curiousity got te best of me so i folded my current 'go-to' hat's sweat down and sure enough it was signed:

'handmade for (indiana g) by steve delk' right about where he punched my initials.

i knew marc did this and some folks have the 'ford felt' markings....just curious if all the ab owners had the same thing...... :D

We started doing this as a standard after people asking us to do so (once the news regarding CS broke lose).

It's an old hat makers practice.

Peters Bros hats have done that for decades, and it's a nice touch. :D

This was mentioned before so I tried to see, but since I have one of the first AB's to come out of Steve's shop, it's not dated or signed, so I have no idea the exact date it was made.

I agree and wish that more of the Vendors that made the "on screen" gear we see would follow suit. I know many items do not allow for this type of signature but it is a very nice touch. I am a big fan of Wested Leather and feel that they may better serve by providing a similar touch instead of the laminated COA provided.

My rabbit was signed. It came a little while after the movie hats were finished so the signing policy had kicked in. It's a very nice touch.

I started signing the hat after we got the film gig. It shows it was made by the guys who made the CS fedoras. Before that, the thought of signing my name seemed a bit egocentic. These days, I don't think so. Since I signed my part of the film hats, (for strictly business reasons), I thought I should sign what I made after that. It makes it authenic. Fedora

Good for 'book keeping' too, as you can tell at a glance when the hat left your shop without having to dig through your files.

My Raiders brown AB from way back when, is not signed. My gray AB from July '06 is signed. I don't know how that happened. And, of course, my KotCS AB is signed.

Hmm, I'm sure it's all as everyone is saying. I'm here at work on a break wearing my original AB and no, I don't see a signature, just sweat marks. But now I can't wait to get home to check my CS hat. I gots to know!
