New DelCarpio Order: Raiders OR ToD style?

Hello all,
I have finally ordered my first whip after years and years of groaning about the price tags...and after countless recommendations to Bernardo, I ordered an 8 footer from him. Now, I thought I wanted the ToD styling because I like the look of the more prominent taper...but I figured I'd ask all you bullwhip buffs out there...

Which style would you recommend and why?

Does the extra taper affect the handling or feel of the whip? (or is it purely based on asthetics and personal preference)

I've asked Bernardo what his thoughts are on the topic and I expect he'll respond VERY soon...his customer service is second to none! I think he said I can expect mine around late October, which is no problem for me. After all, I'm going on 8 months strong on my AB wait...

Thanks for any advice in advance!
Cheers,
Z

my "cover-all" reply to "either/or" questions is...: BOTH!

I told Bernardo i wanted a "Raiders" style...
its such a good crackin whip that i dont think those subtle variations are going to make much matter to ya...
I just cant see getting THAT specific about something like a whip...
ya gotta think... they are made out of a NATURAL material so NO two will EVER be alike.... so why try?
just let the hide be what it wants to be...

The slight swell you see at the end of the handle is another method of construction, but it doesn't change how the whip behaves or cracks because it happens over the rigid handle and not on the thong itself. So don't let that be a deterent, just choose the one you want and he'll make you a nice whip :-)

I rest assured that Bernardo will make me an amazing whip, whatever style I choose. I was just curious if anyone had both a Raiders and ToD style for comparison of their performance.

I guess there's just not very much difference at all in performance with differing movie styles. Thanks for the input guys.
