I ordered an 8ft Indy style bullwhip from Northern Whip Company about 3 weeks ago and I was told that it would be about 2-3 weeks for delivery. I called Joe Strain last Friday to check the status since I noticed my check had be submitted to my bank on the 3rd of March. Joe was not in the office, so they told me that he would call me back. Anyway, Friday evening, Joe called me and verified that he had indeed finished my bullwhip but that he was unhappy with the way it had turned out.
Rather then sending it, he said he was about half finished with a new one and that it should be ready to ship today (3/17)!!!
I post again after it arrives. Hopefully Paul Stenhouse will get his whip handleing out on DVD soon!
Good Times,
PBG

I guess Joe is not up to full production? Or is he just taking it one at a time?
He sure has talent.

Prior to his injury, Joe in the past has made up to 12 to 15 whips per week. That quantity satisfied the demand from Mark Allen and Joe's direct business. Due to his injury with his hand, he has cut down production to 1 or 2 whips per week.
As far as I know, and I just got an update last week when I was at the WWAC convention, that production output from Joe will not change. His hand still hurts when he his making whips. So he understands the cause and effect of ramping up production higher than 2 whips per week. For now, he works somewhere else part time to make ends meet. So bottom line, you can still order whips from Joe, but it takes longer to get them shipped to you.
Hope this helps...

That's about what DM's schedule is like. Two to three month waits are probably right around the corner for a JS.

  AARRGGHH!!!
Okay, I know that it is only Thursday, but I've been tracking my JS bullwhip since it was shipped on Tuesday and I think I've got a psycho UPS driver on my hands! The package left Idaho, went to Washington, then to Oregon (okay so far) but I checked on it this morning and it is currently in SALT LAKE CITY??!! I live in Southern California! Why is the package going BACK EAST?! I'm affraid I'm going to track it later to today and find that has arrived in Omaha or something. Okay, I'm done venting. Thank you.

Ha! Hey if it makes it to Texas, let us know. I'll take my whip down to the office and tell them a thing or two. <grin>
Best of luck to you,
Pyro.

Okay I've had the whip for a few weeks now and I couldn't be more satisfied. I brought it to the LA Tribe lunch and got the thumbs-up from Sergei, Chamarro and MK so I'm positive that I made the right choice. I borrowed Mark Allen's Whip Cracking Made Easy videos from MK and have been able to get some fantastic "thunder-claps"
out of it. My PB2 is off to Mr. Strain and Northern Whip Company.
If any of you are on the fence about which bullwhip to get I HIGHLY recommend Joe's.
