Speaking of lamb...a sizing question

I've located a Wested lamb (almost brand new) for a good price. The sleeve and back measurements are spot on but I'm worried about the chest size. I normally am a 46 but this one is a 44. Am I okay or am I going to end up looking like a stuffed sausage.

A size 44 Regular Wested has a total chest measurement of 48 inches.
If you are a size 46, then you will only have 2 inches to move around
in, in a size 44.
And thats with you wearing nothing! If you add in the thickness of a
tee shirt, a regular shirt, or something heavier like a sweatshirt, forget
it.
Unless you like the stuffed sausage look, and you like your jackets tight,
then its going to be too small for you.
No jacket, no matter if it is a good deal, will get any wear time if you don't
like the way it fits, and it ends up hanging in the closet because you can't fit into it.
Get one that fits you properly, or you will end up hating it.

Pretty much what I was thinking. I was blinded by the deal.

Folks, new and old alike....please take the statement above and tattoo it somewhere on your body for future reference. One of the truest statements posted in quite a while.

I know that in the past, I've had to go a size larger on the Westeds, requiring some roominess around the upper torso. This will also allow for a little "growth" if in the future the Thanksgiving dinner is better than you would like for it to be.

Not exactly the next tattoo I was hoping to get, but if Michaelson says do it...[/quote]

....very true indeed.....esp. since most guys will get bigger (or fatter
) as they get older.....it's better to error on the side of getting something bigger than smaller.....you can at least alter something that's big.
