I hope your summer is going well. Wanted to let you know that my Magnoli is holding up very well and is a great piece of headwear. I was just wondering if you received my brothers magnoli HJ that I sent back because of a size issue. I enclosed a note with my shipping info and the correct size and bash style.
Just a quick shout back that you got the package would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Joe Forestano

I've purchased my Fuller's Earth direct from Cinema Secrets in Burbank, CA. I live here in LA, so it's a short drive to get it. Their website doesn't show it listed, but if you call the retail store, I would think you could order it from them. They also have what they call "movie dirt" in two or three different colors, one being a brick red (to look like clay dirt). It's basically a tinted fuller's earth. They sell these in a small 5 or 6 oz. container and a larger 12 oz. size (but don't quote me on those exact sizes). Here's the link to get their info -

He's serious. Kitty litter has a lot of the same ingredients as Fullers Earth. Kitty Litter works (though it goes on gray).

And if you can't find it that way, Google for it's "proper" name: bentonite.

Well, he is a verry busy man... have you tried pm-ing him or sending him an e-mail?

He prefers emails, I think.

Indycrazy, Steve is difficult to get in touch with because he tries to spend most of his time working on hats. Your best bet is to e-mail him instead of PMing him (and if you call, be prepared to keep at it before reaching him) but keep in mind he limits himself to only so much e-mail time per day, especially because he has at LEAST hundreds of e-mails to try to wade through.

I totally understand that he's a very busy guy...i have a day job as well..however, when I see him posting on the fedora thread on other stuff and not giving the common courtesy to give a "what's up to this thread" what am i supposed to think? I'm sure he's working on my hat, but I'd appreciate a little acknowledgment...and here comes the criticism.

It could be some confusion about the title: this section is about The Fedora after all, and he might not pick up on the fact that "Fedora" in this title is referring to him. I can't think of any other reason he wouldn't chime in as I don't know whether he reads everything in this section or scans for his interests.
So, to be on the safe side, I think it would still be better to e-mail him as well.

Well, there's that, or it could be that if he DOES reply, everyone else who is trying to get hold of him for the same reason will flood this section with 'Hey Fedora!' threads in an attempt to get the same reaction, so he chooses not to.
email IS your best bet.
