Looks like a MKVI and not a WG was used in the leather impression though.

Other than that, it looks very nice. :)

correctamundo rook.....i believe it's Lee's own mkvi that he has to send to the leather guy for molding. question for you......will the WG fit in there correctly?

Both pistols are "about" the same size, but there ARE differences. The WG cylinder is longer as is the grip frame. I can't say with absolute certainty if it will be a "plug and play" match. I had a comparison picture in another thread comparing the WG and the MKVI.

I'd venture to guess though that you could possibly modify the holster in a similar manner to the way Lee's was made. Soften the leather via steam or soaking and then insert the pistol?

Just guessing though. The real steel WG's are a rather rare bird these days, and expensive to boot, so it makes sense that Lee would use what he had on hand rather than spending (minimum) $1200 just to get the holster "indent" 100% correct.

Of course he could pick up one of your resin repros and use it to get the indent without the possibility of rusting the reel deal!

I've never formed a holster made with heavy grade (actual holster leather) material, so I don't honestly know what kind of force would be involved in forming the holster impression. The Cold cast resin might not be up to the task. I mean, I dropped mine on the floor and it weathered the fall with only a minor injury (broke off the hammer spur), so it might be able to be used for holster forming.

I had a mint Webley-Green in my hand at the Tucson show last weekend. It will fit. the birdshead grip is actually smaller than the MK Vl grip. I did have to wipe the drool off the gun.
